A New Voice - Una Voz Nueva
My name is Karina Quintanilla, candidate for City Council for District One, running to give a voice to people who haven’t been heard in city government in Palm Desert in the past.
Compassionate, collaborative leadership is crucial moving forward during the pandemic; we are in this together, but are not the same boat. I will represent District One, working to help residents thrive, not just survive and work towards the goal of five districts to best represent Palm Desert’s residents. It will be humbly honored to represent District One and I appreciate your vote. Please, mask up, and stay safe.
My career in education taught me what the successful combination of business, education, and leadership can achieve. Growing our local universities will bring stable jobs and sustainability, ensuring Palm Desert thrives for generations by bringing additional sectors beyond hospitality which diversifies revenue sources. Future CSU Palm Desert students will need affordable housing, as do families and seniors; meanwhile, median home prices skyrocket.
As an essential worker I understand the challenges working families face, especially with the uncertainty of Covid-19. We need eviction moratoriums to make sure people waiting for the pandemic to end to return to work keep their homes.
On the City Council Karina will:
- Promote districts with fair representation.
- Expand educational opportunities in Palm Desert.
- Prioritize public health to drive a healthy economy.
- Support economic recovery with compassion for small business owners.
Karina asks for your vote of confidence and will be honored to represent District One. Please, mask up, and stay safe. Together, Palm Desert stands strong.
